I had the most traumatic experience l have ever had at this hair salon. If you dont have time to read the details then do not go to this salon under any circumstances.I bought a Groupon voucher for a cut and added half a head of highlights. My hair is naturally Aurburn/ginger and I wanted blonde highlights to brighten the colour. I never dye my hair so I wanted to start small. At the consultation I was told I wanted a balayage for my shoulder length hair. Being naive to hair dying I trusted their suggestion. I had it cut which I really liked, and then coloured the next day. The bleach they used began to bubble like shaving foam. She continued to apply it. It was a heatwave day - no air con. She then left it on for 85 minutes in total, checking in on it and looking worried. Then they decided to put a different type of bleach on my hair. The result? I walked out with 3/4 of my hair bleach blonde and damaged beyond repair. 5 hours after the colouring began. I told them I didnt like it, so thry told me I could come back the next day for free (Im still in shock) to get it touched up with the manager, telling me my hair looked good. I looked ridiculous is putting it mildly. The manager then tried to fix my hair telling me she would have to semi permanent my hair to try and match my old colour. I asked three times if, after the 24 washed, my hair would return to the blonde. She replied: no. Its difficult to explain but youll go back to your natural colour. I wanted to believe her, but alas, I am already blonde again. Only after 12 washes.This was the devastating part as I loved my natural hair colour, it was part of my identity and I said originally that I did not want to lose it- simply highlight it. I repeated this several times. She put dye over it, advising me never to get a balayage again (I had to tell her that her employee had suggested it at the consultation).She then put blonde highlights in as well. When it came to the reveal, after two more hours without air conditioning, I looked mousy brown with silvery ash blonde highlights.Better I guess, but still ridiculous. I couldnt help but cry.The manager, upon realising I didnt like it... went to sit down at her desk. I had to go and get my things and tell her I deserved a full refund for the unspeakable damage she had caused, and just the experience alone.She was completely unsympathetic and rude, at one point telling me dont get upset. Begrudgingly gave me a refund.I visited a professional hairdressers who was in shock at the fact I didnt get compensation for the experience, and told me I had about 5 inches of damage to my hair. Her advice, after thirty years of treating bad haircuts (as where they had thinned it- they had left chunks in my hair!) - leave it to grow out as too much has been done to it.
